WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE?

We elaborate on two events from the last episode. Jesus comes to a wedding and performs a miracle there. What does that mean for you and me? Then, Jesus goes to the Temple in Jerusalem and purges it of the merchants within. What does that mean? How do these events show the same side of Jesus?

Jesus begins collecting followers in this Jesus Stories episode. We meet his first followers and see an early miracle. Jesus also travels to the first Passover and has his first confrontation in the Temple with the religious leaders of Israel.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE:

  • Peter and John are sent into Jerusalem to prepare for the Passover
  • Jesus says, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover with you before my suffering begins
  • Jesus shares bread and wine, imparting new meaning to these emblems
  • “But here at this table, sitting among us as a friend, is the man who will betray me.”
  • Jesus makes promises regarding the Kingdom to his disciples
  • Jesus washes everyone’s feet
  • “I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.”
